"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31
This verse comes to us through Isaiah at a time when God's people were in captivity in Babylon. Their lives were hard. They were slaves in a strange land, longing for their home and for their freedom. And yet this encouraging word was given to the prophet in the midst of this dark time.
What burdens, grief, anxiety to the women of Steadfast carry with us each day? If we depend upon our own strength, those burdens will remain heavy and we won't be able to walk well under them - and we certainly won't be able to run. But by the power of God's Spirit when we TRUST in the Lord, it is transforming to our lives.
The other part of the verse that is an important example to us is the eagle. The eagle has amazing eyesight - a laser like focus. We need to have that same focus on the Lord and His Word. The eagle uses the wind within a storm to glide and rise above the storm. We need that same strength to face into the storms of life and soar above them by trusting God. The eagle never gives up in a fight. He is fearless. When we depend upon the Lord, He fights our battles the same way.
By the grace of God, our prayer is that Steadfast Women will be able to Rise Up with power supplied by God's Holy Spirit as we learn how to trust Him more and more. Please join us as we are encouraged together with Dr. Tara Rye.
